@manward Absolutely! Like mentioned, Iām out of state. 1340 SAT, 95.6 GPA. 5 APās, all honors/dual enrollment classes all four years. Ranked 9/106.
ECās: Iām our class president, play 2 sports, 400ish volunteer hours (120+ of them from local hospitals), part of the schoolās music program, as well as an out of school vocal lesson scholarship from local university. Also work two part time jobs.
Wrote my essay about my time in surgical wing at local hospital and long line of nurses in my family, how that inspired me, etc.
Really my only concern is my lower-end SAT score. Sort of bummed I havenāt heard back from Bing yet, as itās one of my top schools. Seeing everyone before the holidays hear back already was a little disheartening!
For reference, Iāve been accepted to Quinnipiac and Molloy Collegeās nursing schools so far. Waiting on decisions from Bing, UConn, and UMass Amherst(all for nursing too).
Do you mind ask if I ask what your daughterās stats are? It seems there are a small amount of Decker applicants on this thread, would love to know as much as possible. Thanks! (Also- if anybody wanted to very kindly chance me that would be amazing and I would appreciate it a lot! )
Still waiting EA Harpur
My D is also OOS, applied, EA, waiting for Nursing decision. Itās a nail biter!
Has anyone heard of definite rejections yet? Just hoping the remaining decisions are not rejections. My sons portal hasnāt changed and the add scores link still appears.
I know of one person who got rejected in my school (low ranked nyc public school). I donāt know her stats exactly but mid 1200 sat and 90 gpa. she found out early december.
When Is accepted student day? Where is it listed on their website?
In the portal it says:
Save the date for Admitted Student Open House! Join us Saturday, April 18 or Sunday, April 26.
Iām not sure if this is just for Watson.
@lexington29 Hi! Sure. My D has similar stats to you and just as involved. She holds multiple leadership positions for her 4 years and founded a club. She volunteers in two hospitals, as well as for a charity where she has accrued many hours of volunteering. She plays 3 Varsity sports, plays 2 instruments, began a tutoring business for herself, in addition to working a part time job at a restaurant. Her GPA is currently between 96-97. Her ACT is 28.
She has heard and been accepted to 8/8 schools so far and now weāre waiting on her last few. I wish you both the best of luck in the next few weeks!
Here we go folks, final 9 for EA decisions; Wishing all a week in which your hopes are fulfilled. No matter the outcome, have faith that life is unfolding with its own blessings and your opportunities for enriched and fulfilling educations remains as it is now, always in your own hands. Create your happiness wherever you go. Good Luck! Keep breathing.
final 9 days??
All Early Action application decisions will be posted by the 15th of January, that leaves 9 days for those who applied to find out whether they were admitted, deferred or denied.
Has anyoneās portal changed as of today (blank below the checklist)? Does Binghamton ever released admission notices on a Monday?
If they place your application with regular decision, do they notify you of that by January 15 as well?
Portal has not changed as of yetā¦
Regular Decision applications can be notified at anytime after January 15 but all EA will be notified by January 15. If deferred, then your application will go into the Regular Decision grouping and you can be notified anytime thereafter.
Thanks for the explanation. So one way or another we will find out by January 15th. Good luck everyone!
anyone anticipating a drop today?
Yes. Watch your portal for changes after 11:00 a.m.; if you can no longer make changes to the testing scores, you will likely receive your decision tonight or one day this week. The majority of drops have been on a Tuesday.
Anybody have any updates on portal changes/decisions?
