Binghamton Class of 2024 Thread

Acceptance to Watson posted in the portal just now. Applied regular decision waaay back on November 2nd.

Congratulations! What are your sonā€™s stats?

1400 SAT, 98 GPA, 8 APs. The wait is hard, I drove myself nuts. As a side note, the portal changed around 3pm and was updated around 7pm. Good luck to all!

Accepted to Watson on the 12th.

Anyone know around when Harpur decisions will be released or when they were released last year?

I applied to Watson in early January and still havenā€™t gotten a decision. Anyone in the same situation?

Pretty sure through at least Mar 27 LY.
Just hoping for the best. Waiting on Harpur too.

Same here. DS completed application Oct. 29.

Apologies if this has already been asked, but is Binghamton going to be holding their accepted student day online? Have they announced anything yet?

DS accepted to Harpur/Political Science.

The outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus) is creating challenges and concerns for universities across the United States and around the world. Weā€™re monitoring the outbreak and taking steps to protect the health of our community as well as future Binghamton students.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel the April 18 and April 26 Admitted Student Open House events.

We were thrilled to see you had signed up and know this cancelation is disappointing, but we will work hard to provide you with the information you need as you make the important decision of where to attend college. Admissions counselors are happy to answer your questions; email us to set up a phone call or virtual meeting. Additionally, weā€™ll email you next week with a schedule of virtual events for admitted students.

Thank you for your understanding.

Anyone received invitation for the Source Project??

@MOMNY0405 , it is extremely difficult to transfer into SOM. My son is a freshmen and was denied. Many student apply multiple times. I know a first semester junior who got in this past semester. As far as I can tell, getting in depends mostly on GPA, then I think they give priority to those who have applied more than once.

Those who are asking about housing. Itā€™s a lottery. The student will be assigned a random time slot to choose. It is NOT based on when a deposit is paid. My son had a good time slot and so he was able to choose for his suite mates. His suit mates include a kid who is in SOM, so I donā€™t think itā€™s based on the particular school, though I canā€™t vouch for that. There is also some special interest housing.

@EditorNYC , itā€™s too early for the university to make decisions about accepted student visits. I might post something here on CC about how to get a feel for campus and the students. I can tell you that Bing has a high retention rate for a public U, and that my son and his friends are very happy. In fact, my son recently told me he is so glad he is there.

anyone have any clue what day is likely for the next wave of decisions?

Got waitlisted today for the school of nursing. 1340 SAT and 3.6 gpa.

Accepted to Decker School of Nursing.

1490 SAT, 93.31 GPA

Does anyone know when Bing release financial aid?

Does anyone know if Binghamton is having a ā€œvirtualā€ Accepted Student Day? If so, when and how to register?

Invited to the Scholars Program today! Full IB student with 3.8 UW/4.3 W GPA and 33 ACT.

@smashgal if you were accepted you should have received an email allowing you to register for ā€œvirtualā€ Accepted Student Days and other webinars. Check you email inbox.

Got it! Thank you!

Is it safe to say at this point the only people who have not heard are not getting in? I have twins who applied and neither have heard yet. They are both very smart. One applied for engineering and one for business. It seems pretty mean to wait until the last possible second to let students know they did not get in especially when they could have accepted other schools earlier.
