So my other son still hasnāt heard from Watsonās I thought today was the last day for decisions. Doesnāt matter anyway because he accepted RIT yesterday and paid his deposit. He got a pretty good scholarship there and itās really where he wanted to go. He was turning down Binghamton anyway but I still dont understand why he didnāt get a decision. RIT accepted him right away when he applied EAā¦he deferred to regular decisionā¦they accepted him right away again. They even offered him a scholarship last year as a junior before he even expressed any interest there. They really wanted him! So good luck to everyoneā¦and I hope if you wanted to go there you at least get a response ??āāļø

Heās been waitlisted until June but you need to make decisions by May 1 so I have no clue what thatās about. Like I said he already accepted RITā¦he was also accepted to stony brookā¦Binghamton likes the kids with a lot of clubs and who seem āpopularā my daughter is graduating. From decker and she said yesā¦that seems true because college is really a business and they want to make sure the kids are involved and stay all 4 years so they keep the money. Binghamton seems to place a high priority on that.
We got waitlisted to SBU but accepted to Bing/ Harpur. The waitlists are a bit confusing since you have to make a decision before they get back to you, I agree! I think they urge you to choose a different school and then if/ when they get back to you, you can enroll but may lose the deposit for the other school. Good luck to him. Sounds like a very bright student.

Could be but I got accepted into Bing and my only ECs were a summer job and Chess Club. Although my SAT is higher than your sonās my GPA is far lower than his.
I feel like you need at least a 1400 SAT for Binghamton to be āguaranteedā an acceptance.

Nope. Iām pretty sure they start contacting students later on though. Hopefully this yearās chances for waitlisted students are higher given the whole COVID-19 pandemic in NYS
I have the opposite view. I think the waitlisted students chances are higher for PRIVATE COLLEGES because parents donāt want to send their kids too far away from home (get on an airplane) or donāt want to spend as much money on tuition due to economic uncertainties/COVID-19 so Iām anticipating that Binghamton will actually be MORE difficult to get off waitlist since too many students will be accepting offers to go to Bing.

click on the link to submit deposit. There is a NO option there. But youāve probably figured it out already.
Looks like DS will choose Bing over Alb/Buff for Spring 2021. Admission. He did get scholarships to Albany.
Deposit for spring admit is refundable until Nov 2020.
