I am from Long Island and I got nothing today and nor did any other kid in my school that applied.

Yeah I don’t know how selective the application process was this year. The letter says there were more than 33,000 applicants and it was “especially competitive this year”

My son received his acceptance package today in the mid-Hudson Valley. BTW, we were able to get onto the payment site yesterday and it said he was eligible to pay.

I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion on my story. Originally I applied for the business school, but then Binghamton called by guidance counselor and said I’d have a much better shot if I switched my application to Harpur, which I did. I thought that this was a good sign, since they usually don’t talk about individual students in this way. Now I can’t access the link we’ve been talking about to “pay”. My last name starts with a “G”. Does this mean I’m not accepted? Maybe they just didn’t put me “in” yet because I switched my application around two weeks ago. Thoughts?

I would not give up hope yet. I have not given up hope cause Im well qualified to get in considering how qualified past students at my school were. I am not eligible also on the quickpay website but apparently the site has nothing to do with EA acceptance (this according to the admissions officer I spoke to over the phone today). Not really understanding why they have not released decisions online yet but have sent out letters.

Just wondering, why do universities send out admissions decisions on different days; I have kids who live a mile away that have received their acceptance letters and I have yet to receive anything.

I got an acceptance letter in the mail today…OOS, from CT. I know a couple of people have asked this but did anyone who got accepted also get notification of a scholarship? Binghamton is one of my top choices but since I’m out of state it’s a bit harder financially and I heard they don’t give much in the way of scholarships. I just have my fingers crossed that they’re sending that info out later!

Universe2018. I think they do acceptances one day… Deferrals another day and then rejections. I guess its too much to do in one day? Or maybe they want people who are accepted to be notified first.

i doubt there that organized… CBMOM22 do you have any reaction to my story again?

Congratulations to those who are officially accepted! I, myself am terribly anxious and just want to hear something; good or bad, so the nerves can calm and I can plan for the future accordingly.

@universe
Just speculation, I heard of no deferrals or bad news today; this can be due to a lot of reasons (embarrassment even), but I would hate to believe that acceptances come out FIRST, then all the bad news follow. It’s sort of like a big slap to the face, to see everyone around you get accepted - and have to believe you aren’t going to get accepted just because yours didn’t come in. I’d appreciate it, more, if EVERYONE got a result on the same day; that way it’s fairer.

In my opinion they should have electronically sent everyone their decision today. That way EVERYONE knows what they will be doing to plan for the future, and send the snail mail letters on different days. To me this is just the best way of going about the decisions process. Instead people like me, are worrying and doubtful that their application wasn’t strong enough; yet still have some hope that maybe it was just a failure on the post-system’s behalf. False hope and increase anxiety for no reason.

To everyone who hasn’t heard from them, keep your head up and fingers crossed! :)

dude i doubt they send all decisions out on one day

My best friend, who literally lives down the block from me; didn’t get mail (although her friend at her school did), however my best friend can access the deposit site. In other words; they’ll be giving out more acceptances tomorrow and finally Wednesday. So all hope is not lost.
