Hello, I am an incoming freshman to the Harpur School at Binghamton and I am trying to set up a list of classes that I am interested in for Fall 2012.

I want to take a basic (in the 100s) English Composition class that in most schools would be like a freshman writing seminar class.

I can not seem to find this type of class in the course catalog however, if anyone could help me out with the course title for the type of class I'm looking for it would be greatly appreciated.

The class is WRIT111: Coming to Voice. It’s a freshman-only class, very popular, and strongly recommended. Probably 90% of my friends have taken it. The purpose is to help you build your writing/composition skills. The class revolves around your “portfolio” that consists of three pieces: a personal essay, an op-ed, and a researched argument. You’ll spend the entire semester working on your portfolio (which is 80% of your grade, the other 20% being oral presentations) and also analyzing other pieces of writing to see where they went right or wrong and learning from their techniques.

thank you very much this is extremely helpful
