I'm a Fall '08 transfer student in Binghamton University (Harpur College) as undecided, but I'm planning to choose Economics as my major. I wanted to get into School of Management, however, I was rejected. I leaned towards the Finance field, so I'm thinking about taking upon the Econ: Financial Analysis major (Bachelor of Science).

According to Business Week, Binghamton's SOM students recieve an annual mean salary of $57,000. I was wondering about the average salary for a Harpur student who wants to enter the corporate field.

Will the salary be somewhat close?

How comparable, in terms of offers, are the recruitments in SOM and Harpur? I'm quite sure internships are very important for recruiters to see in the resume, however, as a Junior transfer, I'm begining to raise doubts that I will get one.

To get an internship, will they only base my grades from Binghamton or will they also check out my grades from my last college (my grades are not something I want to disclose - they aren't terrible, but just not recruiting worthy)?

Is a semester of work enough to apply for an internship for next summer 2009?

I heard transferring from Harpur to SOM is a longshot - but with mediocre grades from my last college and good grades from Binghamton, is it still almost impossible?

Thanks.
