Hey guys,
I just recently applied to Binghamton University as a High School Senior. I applied to SOM without realizing that it was much harder to get into then Harpur so I was just curious if I don't get into SOM will they admit me into Harpur or do I just get flat out rejected from Binghamton. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I don't know if i should call and change my application to Harpur. My SAT and ACT scores are 1310/30 and my unweighted GPA is 91.77 so I am not sure that I am qualified for SOM. Thanks!

I would definitely call or email them to let them know of the switch. I have to warn you, however, that is very hard to change schools once accepted. So if your final goal is a major in SOM, I’d just stick with it now for your best chance.

Thanks!! that’s probably what I’m going to do. Also, does anyone know if it is possible to get admitted into Harpur if they reject me from SOM

When you fill out the supplement, they ask you for a first and second choice. So you can put SOM as a first choice but Harpur as a second.

Thanks. But, I applied using Common app and there was no option on the supplement to choose which school I wanted to apply to there was only options to pit my academic interests. For my three interests I put Business, Finance and Psychology so I guess that’s how I got admitted to SOM. I’m just not sure if harpur is still my second choice because I put psychology as my third interest. Sorry for the confusion.
