Binghamton university, any thoughts from students, alumni?

Hello everyone,

As of currently, I’m a student at a SUNY school looking to possibly transfer to Binghamton university. I applied for the fall 2012 semester, and Binghamton just sent me an email requesting my midterm grades. I had a hard upbringing in a less then desirable environment, with that being said my high school transcript suffered. However, I received a 3.89 gpa this past semester and I’m on track towards reaching hopefully the same gpa. I really don’t know what to make of the request for the midterm grades; does this mean I have an adequate chance of getting in? I’m not a shallow person; I genuinely like the University Not Just for the Name. Can any students tell me about college life there, or anything that might affect my decision if I’m accepted?

I really need a change of environment I’m commuting to college right now, so any input, positive or negative about binghamton university would be awesome.

Happy trails and best of luck to everyone,

Anyone? Bump.

Can anyone give me input or advice here? Come on, there has to be someone nice enough to post :-)

I don’t have a lot of experience here …maybe ask on Transfer forum … but I think it’s pretty standard to ask for a progress report mid-semester of the term before the transfer. Great first semester --now keep it up. Good luck!

I will be sure to do that, thank’s for the post!
