Decision time during a pandemic. Naturally, given the current circumstances, logic tells you to reduce costs wherever possible ie: state school. What is your opinion on the likelihood of online classes for fall AND spring semesters. If you can, is it worth paying private tuition only to keep your spot at a private college or start online at state school in the hopes of transferring for Fall 2021…will transfer rates skyrocket next year Also, the theory that international students won’t be able to travel and therefore wait lists may be more active…would’t classes be online for international students as well, so they will pay for their spot like everyone else in hopes of returning to campus eventually and therefore not as many spots open up from wait lists.
What’s the fordham / binghamton angle?
Weighing options on where to attend, if i start at state school to save $$, how difficult will it be as a transfer student next year since many, many people might be reassessing where they will choose to attend due to the virus this year and transfer applications might drastically increase next year?. International students not being able to attend this year might see increased numbers next year.
Have you been admitted to both Fordham and Bing? Honors anywhere? Costs?
One thing you can do is to see just how much the difference in cost actually is. Have you run the net price indicator on both? Would you receive the Excelsior scholarship for STEM for SUNYs? You say you’re international…? But maybe you graduated from a NYC high school or something.
Bing is a great school IMHO BTW. It’s not at all clear that Fordham is a better school just because it’s private.
