I got accepted into Binghamton. About $20k/yr. I'd get a nice education at a great value.

I also got accepted into Northeastern with a $20k/yr scholarship and into the Honors' Program. That leaves me with about $30k/yr to pay ($10k/yr more than Binghamton.) It is in Boston, a nice city. Its Honors program dorms are very nice.

I am planning on majoring in a science and going on a pre-med track.

Which would be a better choice, in your opinions?

Since you’re pre-med, spending more money for NE is probably not necessary. If you can go to Bing without any loans or with less loans, then that is preferable.

If you spend less on undergrad, will your parents help you with med school?

have you checked out the pre-med forums here on CC?

My parents could pay fully for either, so I am more concerned about the quality of education and quality of life at the two schools and how they compare. If they are equal, then money plays a factor and I would attend Bing.

I think you should apply to Cornell, not too late yet, since it’s superb at premed.

Between Bing and Northeastern, neither of them are good at premed, so you should pick the one that you like more. (fyi the last time i visited bing, i got a bad taste in my mouth. it was dreary and the town was very boring…)

Other than location, I really don’t think Northeastern has any advantage over Bing. Save money and go to Bing. Non of this school will give any premed advantage over the other. Do well in your grades and MCAT.

I think either one would be fine for pre-med. Check their stats on their websites. You don’t need to go to Cornell to get into med school. You need a great GPA and great MCAT scores. Vist both schools and decide. My daughter has applied to both Binghamton and Northeastern.
