Im deciding between these three schools. Which school has the strongest sciences/ pre-med? and does anyone have a link that shows percent of undergrads getting into med. school for each school? Goal is to get into medical school btw.

Thanks guys!

What is Bing?

Both BU and Stony Brook are good schools. Go to the one you are happiest at most of all, percentages of undergrads getting into medical school is a filthy lie don’t rely upon it in your decision making. It ultimately has little to do with school quality and is easily manipulated.

Bing=Binghamton, I think.

Anyway, mmmcdowe is right.

binghampton, costs roughly the same as stony, but offers a slightly better education.

BU is very expensive.

do not go to stony. i’d do bu and then bing. bing is probably the best choice because i assume you’re in-state

^^^ Makes no sense.

BU and Bing are practically the same school, but BU costs like 30k-40K more.

yea im in state. I have to pay about 20k a year for Boston, 7k a year for bing and 2-3k for stony.

Don’t go to Stony you will be MISERABLE. Students go home on weekends and services suck.
If money isn’t an object, I’d be between BU and Bing depending on which environment you’d like better. If money is an issue, Bing is the obvious choice.

yea i live pretty close to stony. I can pay the 20k a year for Boston U but I’m not sure if its worth it since I plan to go to medical school afterwards.

Your chances at medical school will not be greatly affected by your choice provided that there is an adequate pre-med environment at each school (places to volunteer, do research if you like, etc).

Any place even schools that do not have Med. School, have opportunities for volunteering, working, interning in Med. Research lab.

So i would say that cheapest UG that fits the best kid’s personality and all goals (not just Med. School goals) will be just fine and very challenging for anybody, including the best of the top caliber students. Talking from experience of my D. who is college senior pre-med with very wide interests.
