I’m thinking about taking Bio, but know one I know at BU has taken it, so I figured I’d ask some yall on here. The bulletin says BI 107 involves several weekend field trips. I’m just wondering how those field trips were, how often you go on trips, how long the trips last, things like that.

On a similar note, I’m taking an intro bio class this summer at a local college and trying to see if I can get BU credit for it. This college is not nearly as good as BU (but accredited), the bio class is for non-majors (unlike BI 107), and we don’t take field trips. From the first couple of days, it doesn’t seem as though the class will be that detailed or in depth. Should I even bother trying to get credit from BU for this Bio class, or does it not match up to Bio 107?

well if you get credit from another university, you have to present the syllabus and see if it matches up with BU's to some extent. from what you've said, i would assume that it wouldn't count. bi107 field trips are a pain, you take the t on the c line to chestnut hill about 3 or four times, the first field lab you observe plants, draw them, and write down different details. then, you have the glorious avian niche lab where you go to the same location and watch for certain birds. that day, i saw 3. each lab is 3 hours, so the field labs are about 2 hours since you have to alot travel time. be sure to dress warm and bring something to sit on for the avian niche lab. youll be bored to tears, sorry to tell you. oh and you have to be perfectly silent so as not to scare the birds away, but make some friends and manage to make fun of the tf to pass the time, just whisper quietly lol.
