So there are two options on obtaining the Bio 1AL reader, either printing it out on your own or purchase it from store. However, the reader costs around $21 and I'm wondering whether or not it is worth that much...Do you think it would be cheaper to print out the reader(total: 89 pages) on your own?

if you can’t figure out the math yourself, don’t take bio1al
89 pages/2 = 44.5 (two-sided copy at computer lab)
45 pages x $0.09/page = $4.005
Other cost:
binding (if you wish):$4-5?
Opportunity cost: depends on your schedule
Cost of going to the bookstore and get it?
Cost of going to the computer lab?
Also depends on your WTP and utility on either of the option.

im pretty sure… buying the reader is cheaper

get the reader. its in color and worth it considering that you have to ID tiny-ass structures like calciferous glands in part 2 of the class which can be hard to see in B/W pages. its a whole lot neater when youre in lab lec to just take notes on as well and you dont have to keep printing at moffit or wherever

how about the lab manual (total: 212 pages)? it costs $14

if you have (or have no charge access) to a relatively fast laser printer and aren’t counting the costs of supplies, printing it up yourself works fine. Hand feeding a slow inkjet printer is going to take time away from studies, clubs or sleep. Is it worth it?
