Bio Honors

Hi you guys. I have a quick question! I am invited to the Honors Program and I just want more information. I read all the info on the website but I still don't quite understand.
So if I apply and get in, I just take more classes that are Honors classes? And in return I get some kind of a recognition? That's..it?
And do I have to take the Honors classes instead of the regular classes? Like for example, do I have to take Honors Chem instead of the regular one?
Thanks! :)

Yeah that’s pretty much it lol. All you have to do is complete 5 honors courses (1 must be global and 1 must be philosophy/religion) and you’ll complete the program. I know a lot of people expect more but I don’t mind it too much. Honors looks better and it’s really not that much work.

No, you don’t have to take Honors Chem (although it’s an easy way to complete 3 out of the 5 courses if you take an honors FSP and honors chem I and II during freshman year).

5 honors classes throughout the 4 years right? But one has to be in first semester of the freshman year or something?
So it won’t be overwhelming or really difficult being in the Honors program?
Do people usually get in once they apply?
Thanks again HazelEyez :)

Yep, 5 courses over all 4 years, and yes, 1 must be taken during fall semester of freshman year (most people take an honors fsp). The only other requirements are that one course must be global and another must be either philosophy or religion. You can also do 2 honors by contract (i.e. take a regular class and do an extra project or paper to make it “honors”). It really shouldn’t be too difficult to complete (if you take an honors fsp and take 2 courses as honors by contract you’ll really only have to take 2 true “honors” courses).

I don’t know the stats of the people who apply and get in, but I haven’t met anyone who applied and didn’t get into the honors program.

They’ve sent out the Honors invites? I qualify and haven’t received anything

Were you guys accepted early decision? Regular decision applicants wouldn’t have heard by now because (as far as I know) decisions haven’t been posted. The deadline for the honors application when I did it was in April.

I was ED /10char
