Hey everybody,

I've been a member of this site since sophomore year of high school, but I haven't posted since entering college. Now that I'm all-growed up and doing the Med School game this year, I'll come out of my corner to ask for some help.

Most schools require one year of biology and lab. I'm good with the lecture course requirement, but I'm deciding on a lab. My school offers a very interesting Nucleic Acids lab with an oddball schedule. The course is broken down into two parts, Nucleic Acids I and II, and my school counts them as two separate labs. Nucleic Acids I meets twice a week (>8 hours total) for the first half of the semester, and Nucleic Acids II meets twice a week (also >8 hours) for the second half of the semester. So really I guess these two labs are the equivalent of a full-year course, except that they're scrunched up into a single semester.

I know that each med school has differing requirements and obviously I'm going to inquire with my school's premed advisor too, but my general question to anyone out there is: using common sense, do you think if I took this class that it would fulfill the "year-long" bio lab requirement?

Just looking for some opinions and input. Thanks in advance for the help.
