This is a question for those who went to medical school after majoring in Biology in college.

Do you think majoring in Biology helped you prepare for med school better? In other words, do you think med school was easier because of the bio classes, like anatomy or cell bio, you took in college?

Thanks! :)

Any science major will have more background information than a non-science major. If there is an “advantage” it is not worth choosing one major over another. Most non-science majors statistically do better on the MCAT and have higher acceptance percentage to med school. Major in what you like, work hard, and you can be successful in med school with any major.

Studentdoctor.net is a great source for information on the pre-med route and medical school. Just remember to take all information with a grain of salt.

Major in whatever you like and take anatomy, genetics, bioethics, health policy, or whatever as electives if so inclined.
