im gonna be a biochem/molecular bio major this fall. im going to CalSO on friday and i was wondering whether i should take Chem 001A, although i hear it is a difficult class that should be taken after a person has become used to college life (at least after 1st sem. freshman year). i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to which classes a person with my major should sign up for? thanks.

One reason it has such a bad reputation is because of the poor quality of the professors.

I had Dr. Chandler who stuttered every other word. By the time he got through a sentence, you'd forget what he was talking about. As a researcher, he excels, but is too engrossed with his specific field of chemistry to care about the students.

Read every chapter and do every single problem assigned and you should be fine. Most of the test questions dont require math ability, but it does require a lot of critical thinking.

If I've been unclear to this point, I'll clarify: If you are motivated enough to work hard and go beyond the lectures, Chem1a will be easy.
