I'm somewhat interested in biochemical engineering. As a chemical engineering major, I only have a total of 4 courses in bioprocess engineering by the time I get my degree. Would it be useful to pick up a few courses in biochemistry or biology that have no engineering component in them? If so, would it be too stressful if I take them as extras?

I know that my chemical engineering program, since it is really a program in chemical and biological engineering, requires an advanced biology elective (cell biology, genetics, etc) and biochemistry, so my guess is it would be a good idea for you to take a course in cell biology or genetics or biochemistry.
