What is biochemistry and how difficult of a major is it?

i think it is a class.

Biochemistry is not offered as a major at Hopkins - biophysics is a major though. Biochem is a concentration that you can pursue in the Biology or Chemistry departments -- and focus your research in the specific area too.

(and wannabeDR - are you just trying to boost the number of your posts. Some of your most recent posts really do not add anything to the discussion - for instance your post in this thread???)

its a class you take in sophomore year not a major and i knew that. last time i checked you cant even concentrate on chemistry within a biology BS.. you either get a BA or a BS in cellular and molecular biology. if you want chemistry you either have to minor in it or focus all of your upper level biology electives on upper level chem courses. eat that daniel

you can't minor in chemistry......it is only offered as a major

well you cant officially concentrate on chemistry within a biology major. with your courseload you can but it wouldnt mean or show up anywhere because hopkins has no biochem major

"eat that daniel"

nearly 5 months on CC and finally i have my first real, true fan. not even worth responding.

to the OP, if you have any more questions about how you would go about studying biochemistry feel free to ask...i expect that helpful CC members like xnwc87 will respond with useful information

I am helpful. I pointed out it wasn't a major, its a class. And way before you did. And that if you are really interested you can focus your 5 upperlevels on things like p-chem.

Your number #1 fan, forever and ever.
