Just a couple questions for those who already took these classes

The books are quite expensive...can I safely assume they'll be used for the whole series? Will the future organic chem labs require more books (hoping they're as cheap as the Gen Chem lab manuals)

What online tools do they use? I saw that the books come with online access codes. Will I have to deal with webassign or aleks? (hated those two)

...How was your experience in the classes? I had a rather disappointing freshman year (academically), and I need to pick up the slack this year. How was the workload and the overall difficulty? Any tips and advice to pass the class with a decent grade? I always wondered if the CLUE tutors were helpful.

Buy international versions of the textbook.
You can get the Ochem one for 30$ + shipping (black n white)
Or find the pdf online as well (free) in colour… which is kinda important for the early chapter’s illustrations.

You can find the ochem Lab textbook online in pdf as well for free. its around the same price as the lecture books, 200$+

The international version of the bio book is 80$. None of the classes have used the online code so far, which you wont get with the international version.

You can pretty much get all the books you need for these classes for half the price of one if you look around online. I have used international books for 20+ classes and have yet to find one difference. Reselling them is hard, but you can normally make a profit if you sell to friends who are taking the classes.

Ochem uses webassign, but normally the profs make it cheap to buy. There is very little homework in Ochem.

My experience
Bio180 - didnt take it at UWS
Bio200 - *** freeman 2/10
Bio220 - not really interested, all review, mostly memorization 5/10
Chem237 - 10/10
Chem 238 - 11/10
Chem 239 - 9/10
Loved ochem LC

Chem 241 - *** premeds 1/10
chem 242 - premeds stop cheating *** 0/10

Ochem is really easy if you get the right profs like me. Just pay attention in class and study before the tests and youll do fine. Try to work problems in class before the prof can finish them. This helped me alot.

Bio is Bio… just do all the readings and make flashcards.
Never used CLUE.
