Biology course to transfer

<p>MY D is a first year at the University of Virginia. She is on pre-med track.
She wants to take a Biology course this summer so she can have a lighter load in the fall. She can either a) take the summer course at Rutgers or b) at a local community college. If she can transfer credits from either, does it make a difference where she takes the course wrt to med school admissions?</p>

<p>Local community college is cheaper and she does not have to commute as far.</p>

<p>Taking a science course during the summer is not a great idea. She could be using that time to do something more valuable like volunteer work. In addition, CC science credits are sometimes dubiously looked at by adcoms. Will she take a higher level bio course in the fall?</p>
