Do I have a better chance as a Biology Major or undecided on my application?? Help! Need to submit!!

This is the second time I have posted a question on the BC forum and not gotten a response. I really question the environment. Is it collegial? Strong alumni support? Does the school have spirit? A community?

I don’t think there should be much variation with ease of acceptance based on whether you mark off undecided or biology. It makes more of a difference in acceptance based on what college within BC you apply to rather than the specific major. That being said, if you have a strong science background then sure, apply as a prospective biology major. If your application isn’t centralized around science then apply undecided. Ultimately, I don’t think it should make a large impact. With regard to alumni network and culture, BC has a very strong alumni network and having one of the largest university endowments is a testament to this. There also is a very strong community feel, and game days where the Superfan sections are filled to the brim are a great example of BC pride/spirit. The lack of prompt responses is in no way indicative or a good way to measure the culture of a school (especially on busy weekends when there are multiple huge sport events happening).

Good to know. Thank you.

Living61: It is very difficult for the forum readers to answer a broad question like what you have asked. We need more information in order to give you objective feedback. If I ask you a question such as ‘Should I major in English or Math? What major is easier to get accepted to BC for me?’ You probably can’t answer my question either b/c you do not know my background or stat. It is very important for the question to be specific with lots of data about you so others can help. You can also dig through the past postings to get data too, they were very helpful.
