Unfortunately, I cannot enroll in Biology Honors, but instead take the already rigorous Biology Regents. I am taking an elective(PLTW Biomed) which is selective, and according to the district, “compliments” Biology Regents. Will taking this regular but semi-rigorous course hurt my chances to show I didnt take advantage of a challenging course? I also have bad anxiety which may have been a factor in saying no to honors. The Head Science Chairperson of my district recognized that there was no point in taking an honors class if you didnt intend on majoring in science. (I plan on majoring in creative writing or something related in literary arts). I realize I have posted a lot of bio threads regarding this, but I appreciate the support and advice. Thank you
I think you’re definitely fine, considering you talked to the chairperson. As long as you can get a good grade in the regular class (plus it’s not your intended field of study), you’re definitely good.
Thanks!!! I really appreciate your advice and honesty @sunshine232
I thought you had mentioned in a previous thread that you wanted to major in something related to the biomedical field?
Nope, thats the elective I am taking @Shanban1607
Why can’t you enroll in Honors Bio?
If you absolutely can’t then you are enrolling in what you have to.
Can you take AP Bio later (if you are interestested in the topic
0?
Then why are you taking the 4-year biomedical track? Sorry, this just isn’t quite making sense to me if you do indescribable intend to go into writing/literary arts.
I cant, its a little late, as the rosters are filled, and I am taking APWH, but I will get good grades in Regents, thanks @bopper
Well they dont offer any literary electives, so this is the next best thing for me, I dont want a career in it, but the concept of diagnosing interests me, and it truly compliments Regents, which is smart scheduling @Shanban1607
Update: I am talking to my parents about it
I am doing honors bio @Shanban1607 @bopper @sunshine232
the biology regents are not rigorous at all, especially compared to AP Bio. I’m assuming you are a freshman taking bio, I would recommend switching to chemistry.
They dont offer chemistry as a freshman, and I am doing the honors bio @acceptmyname
