Bioloy

I just can't seem to decide what to major in, and pursue in my life. In all of highschool, biology has been my favorite subject. I have liked the cells, plants, and such. I know that I don't want to be a surgeon or doctor and I would like to head into research. What should I do that will give me a good salary and be a stable job, also, what should I choose to major in?

Well what kind of research do you want to head into first?

I don’t really know, most likely something at a microscopic level.

Microbiology.

You may love microbiology, you may love biochem, or you may not. High school biology isn’t that great of a barometer of what science is really like. It certainly isn’t a proxy for a career in medicine either. Don’t stress out yet, you defined a general field and as you are exposed to different disciplines in the field through your pre requisite courses, you will get a feel for what is fascinating to you and what makes you gag.

Luckily, I am currently taking ap bio, but one of the colleges I want to go to (cal poly) requires you to choose a major when applying. Thanks though!
