Is it really competitive to apply as a biomed engineer at USC? Would it hurt my chances?

BUmp

As I recall there were around 10,000 applicants for the 410 spots in the freshman class at Viterbi. Admissions expect over 52,000 applications this year for the freshmen class. Admission is competitive. Try to excel in class and your outside interests.

Engineering admissions staff, I am guessing, will be looking carefully at your math score and science grades.

2013 Viterbi admission stats:

8,403 applied
1,828 accepted
433 enrolled

knightclub,
The numbers in my post were from the class that entered in 2014 according to what was stated at the engineering orientation meeting for parents. I do not have any specific numbers for the biomedical engineering major.
