Biomedical at OSU

Per suggestions from several of parents on this bbs, I did some research on the Honor program at Ohio State Univ (OSU). I found this biomedical program to be of great interests. The program seem to aim 100% for preparing students for graduate schools. Below are directly quoted from their web.

"Ohio State's College of Medicine is proud to be one of only two medical schools in the country to offer an undergraduate major in Biomedical Science.

This exciting new undergraduate program has been created for high ability students who are eligible for Ohio State's honors program, and who have an interest in conducting medical research and studying human disease. The first class of Biomedical Science students started Autumn Quarter, 2005, and approximately 20-25 incoming freshman will enter the major each year."

Does any one know which is the the other med school? Only 20 - 25 students per year, does this make it one of the most difficult programs to get in? Imaging that D get rejected by OSU?

The honor program's minimal requirement is 1300 SAT I and top 10% of the class. Since my D's SAT I at 8th grade is 1370, could we apply for it w/o taking another seesion of SAT?

That is a cool sounding program! Do you have a link you can post? (Yes. I know. I'm being lazy.) My D would have been very interested depending on how it was structured.

O.K. I'm not THAT lazy. Sounds very nice. I'll keep reading.

I've always thought that grammar school SAT scores were not sent to colleges. Anyway, she'll do much better with a retake, so why not give her the best chance of being really competitive? Sounds like the type of program that would attract top kids, and not many openings are available.
