Biomedical Engineering at Penn State

How absolutely tough is this major at Penn State - that is, do they weed out a big percentage of students in that major? Any advice from current Penn State Biomed Majors or those of you who know some? (HS Senior with 3.933 GPA, 25 ACT (31 Math), 1700 SAT (690 Math), plus taking lots of AP and lots of ECs... just got into Pitt and Mizzou)...

I recently took a tour of the bioengineering dep at PSU… they told me that when you get into to psu, you are a engineer until your soph year, when you declare your major. Bioeng. is the hardest there, because you need to get a 3.3 gpa or above to be guaranteed into the program. in 2005-2008 only about 6ish out of 45ish people would get cut, but last year they said 25 were cut out because they didn’t have the gpa required, and they only had 45ish people accepted.
