When I apply for CMU, I had to chose a department choice but there was no Biomedical Engineering. They website indicates that I can do BME as a double major, so now I'm very confused. So is there a Biomedical Engineering major at CMU? If so, where do I indicate that on my department choice?
Thank you.

Biomedical engineering cannot be your primary major at CMU. That means that if you want to be BME, you are going to have to have 2 majors - your primary major (some other type of engineering), and your double major, BME. I’m pretty sure they’ll let you double with any kind of engineering as long as you can fit everything in, but most people planning to do BME seem to pair it with Materials or ChemE.

When my son was accepted last year, one major reason he did not attend is that he could only minor in Biomed engineering or double major. There is no single major in Biomed engineering at CMU. At that time, the school was considering developing the major so maybe it will change soon.
