Where should I got for biomedical engineering?
-CSU Long Beach
-Cal Poly SLO
-UC Merced
-UC Santa Cruz
-UC Davis
-UC Riverside
-UC Irvine
-UC San Diego
-UC Berkeley

Keep in mind, im going to be a pre-med student, and don't won't my GPA to drop below a 3.5.

Where could I maintain a good GPA? Which one would save my the most $$$?
Should I rule out UC Merced because it isn't accredited yet?

Im leaning towards csulb and ucsc.

Thanks in advance.

Keeping a 3.5+ GPA is entirely up to you. Even if you go to an easier school, if you do not study at all it will be very difficult to keep a 3.5+. You’re going to have to put in some effort regardless of where you go.

Apply to the various schools and compare financial aid offers. We can’t tell you which will be the cheapest.

I don’t know how much accreditation matters for BME. It’s probably not as important as the larger engineering fields. However, it’s probably worth going to an ABET accredited program just in case. Your med school plans may very well change.

UCSD has the highest ranked program in biomedical engineering out of your list of schools (it’s third in the nation, after Hopkins and Duke).
