For any of you IT guys out there, this is a new degree and new field of IT being offered brand new this Fall. What do you think about it?

I am trying to choose between a BS in Computer Science with specialization in network security, but then I came across this one that caught my eye - a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biometric Security. I'd just like to know your thoughts and if you see this degree going places. Thanks.

I see it going places...Borderland Security ring a bell? My Biometrics 345 teacher worked on the side as a consultant and worked out quite a deal regarding his biometric application expertise. That prof knows more about retna, iris id, fingerprint id, UPC scanners, EAS scanning devices than anyone I've met. Be mindful though, working as a consultant means you're on your own; in the biometrics field you will probably go through periods of extensive down time, and unless you have a cushy professor job at a university you could find yourself twiddling your thumbs between jobs. You Need To Network With People. good luck.
