Black Friday!!!

I went to Tanger Outlets at like 1:00 am got back @ 7:00am.

are you serious?!?!?!?!

I went to the mall at 4:30 am and got a Lacoste sweater for half price but now that I think about it, I don't really like it and am planning to exchange it. . .wow that was random

Basically, if you went to an electronic store....you died.

I went to the mall downtown and got there at 7 am. I just got home and it's now 7 pm. I bought clothes, watched the Christmas tree get lit, and talked a lot and a lot with my best friend; it was magnificent.

Next year when I have my car and lisense, I'm going to make sure I attend Black Friday with some friends.

There's going to be partying...
Loud Music...
All the good stuff...

I doubt I'll be able to buy anything in time. I'm horrible at shopping.

I went to NYC today, and my mom promised we'd do a lot of shopping. So guess how many stores we went into. Yeah, that's right. ZERO.

AHHHHHHHH!!!! So dumb. I really wanted to buy stuff... :(

I didnt go anywhere. I feel so bad.

Driving past Best Buy on the way to relatives I saw people waiting outside of Best Buy at 3 p.m. and I was like "Right..."

I actually really did want to go shopping on Black Friday. My mom told me we'd go right after Thanksgiving dinner like the last two years. Last year, and the year before we were at Woodbury at midnight (however...I slept in the car) so this year would have technically been my first Black Friday experience.

I slept around for preparation. =D Then my dad got tired so we just went home after Thanksgiving dinner and I wasn't tired until 4:30 a.m. I went to bed, and missed getting up in time to go shopping with my parents and younger siblings.

:< Oh well there's always next year!

my rents dont think shopping is important enough to stay up all night...and i more or less agree i guess. but i did go around noon. and bought like 10 things for $80. good deals, but i think Black Friday is overrated. you really dont get as many discounts as they say you do. at least not in the good stores.

I'm always amused when I see shoppers interviewed on the news talking about how much they "saved" by patronizing Black Friday sales. Only in a consumer driven society like the U.S. would most shoppers fail to perceive the irony in that statement -- spending to "save" money. The ultimate way to save money at the Black Friday sales? Don't go.

^^ They mean that they save money in the long run. And you do. Places like Ikea and Kohl's had AMAZING deals and I ended up getting a little over $600 worth of stuff for $200 so yes I DID save money.

^I understand what it means. My point was that I question whether many of the "deals" that shoppers get at Black Friday sales are for merchandise that they don't really need and, in some cases, don't even really want. In other words, shopping for the sake of shopping. Not too long ago, I read an article that stated that the NUMBER ONE recreational activity in the United States is SHOPPING -- not sports, not community service, not church, not spending time with friends and family, SHOPPING. I think that's a rather sad commentary on our society, but it's the American way. Not for me, thanks.

The Mall of America was insanely effing crazy. Friends told me they drove in circles for a half an hour before finding a parkng spot...and they have like a million gigantic garages.

Mall of America
my mall... I must return home one of these days
take a road trip while in college or something

I haven't ever done Black Friday. Never seemed worth it.

I planned to wake up at 4:00 am, but everyone in my house overslept.

So we reached the mall at around 9am and it was PACKED. Parking was a huge hassle.

THe sales weren't as spectacular as they are said to be. Most sales were usually something like "15-25% off your whole purchase!".

But I found some good stuff. I got a turtleneck shirt off the American Eagle clearance for 3 BUCKS (normally priced at 29.50)!!!!! :D.

It's mostly an electronics thing.

hahahaa i camped out at the chelsea best buy in manhattan for 8 hours. 9 pm till store opening. 600 ppl camped out. i was able to get a 40 inch' samsung and saved myself 800 =). only 14 tv's and i was able to get one.

HAHAAAA

our mall wasnt even very busy on black friday. none of the sales were enough to make people want to get up. best buy was busy, though.
