blackballed!

if anything I find laurensmom's personal attack more offensive than anything zante said. notice how its the kid (zantedeschia) being mature and aapologizing, and not the other way around? hmm...well, lets take a moment, reflect, then get over it. so yesterdays news

Thanks guys hugg
<3

but if anything, don't phil/shrek/ilcapo's acceptances (all public school students) and my deferral say anything? I never said public school students couldn't succeed/excel/get into great schools. And I totally support these people :D

Umm NYC has Brookyln Tech, Stuyvesant, Bronx High School of Science?? Not too shabby??

Also I go to a NE prep school and our matrics were...haha not really. But seriously, amongst private schools--college matric stats are such a lame stat because you forget that rich parents with already good pedigrees have legacy students tehre which skyrockets matric stats. And also a lot of the matric stats at prestigious high schools like andover exter blah are mostly athletes/legacies. I'd like to see the college matric stats between private and public of NON legacy NON atheltes...heh that would be interesting.

anyways, peace out y'all--next year in college we can compare grad school matrics, i CANT WAIT!!!

i just wanted to post here a message of solidarity in warding off evil lurker parents from our wonderous princeton parent (except for cookiemom). i would also likely to publicly display my support for zante and all the other private school-ed kids right here, right now!

I agree that those are great schools but umm... THREE schools for MILLIONS of kids???? Obviously, on average, the nyc public school is not that great. In fact, the board of ed spends so much money on those schools (stuy gets like half of the total money) that the other public schools really get shortsighted. So if you're lucky (or smart or a good test taker) enough to get into those schools, good for you, but what about everyone else??

And I'm not saying this like, "oh i was too stupid to get into stuy so i had to pay my way into a private school" Private schools are hard to get into as well (and for the record I chose my school over stuy, since I got into both) and yea I don't even know what my point is anymore.

Thanks ilcapo! But you forgot dizzymom, we love her too!

and stcoleridge, yes I agree, it's a cycle of the rich priviledged people, but that's how it is. It was frightening how many of the ED/EA acceptances were legacies. But I'm not a legacy nor do I have any real connections to schools so I can just say yea it's unfair, but you have to deal with it.

hey zante, ya i wasn't denigrating you or anything--just kinda poking fun at myself and this whole process--i happen to be a NE prep school kid with no legacy or athlete stuff but I'm happy I won't be able to say well i only got in cuz of this....although if you got in cuz of athletics or legacy, more power to ya--prove all those people wrong that say you're underqualified.

oh no I wasn't criticizing your comments. Sorry if I'm acting defensive, this thread hasn't exactly been all fuzzy and nice.
