So I'm a mixed african american that has grown up in a neighborhood where many are conservative and I don't really affiliate myself around blacks. Even my friends say I act very "white". Well I most definitely want to join a fraternity at ole miss, but I don't want to be in an all black one. Will it be very difficult for me to get abbad from some of these regular fraternities seeing that I'm black

There are PW fraternities that have offered bids to african-american students. You’ll have to go through their recruitment process. I would suggest talking to some folks you know here already. The best thing is to keep an open mind about the whole process and research the organizations at Ole Miss.

Damon Evans, who was the son of the Ole Miss basketball coach Rob Evans, was the first black to join a predominantly white fraternity, in 1992. He joined Sigma Chi, which has generally been considered one of the stronger fraternities on campus. Since then, I would guess maybe a dozen or fewer blacks have pledged PW fraternities, although Collegeguider may have better info on this.

So as for the OP’s chances, I would say he will need to “wow” them, but it does happen. I might note that Ole Miss fraternities have probably pledged more black students than any other major university in the Deep South. But the fact is that most PW fraternity chapters in the Deep South do not have any black members. Not saying this to be negative to Ole Miss, but I think the guy deserves an honest answer.

I suggest the OP visit the Ole Miss campus and go from there.
