Blue and Gold opportuniy plan

Looking for help from people who have experience with this...

I've been told I'm eligible for the blue and gold opportunity plan on my financial aid offer:

"You are eligible for UC's Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan. Your current financial aid offer reflects that the UC system-wide fees have been covered, up to your financial need, by scholarship and grant support from university, federal, state and/or private sources."

However, it does not appear on my offer, which only gives me $200 in gift aid then some offers for loans. Will my systemswide fees (the $11,000 or so per year) be covered? I have the impression that any grants from UC might not show up until later on--is this true?

Thank you!

Are you a transfer student?

You need to call your FA office and ask why your grants aren’t showing up in your FA package. Other kids have posted that their packages include them…but those kids are incoming frosh. Maybe somehow things are behind for transfer students.

Be aware that when you do get your grants, they won’t say “Blue and Gold”…B&G is just a promise that you’ll get grants that will cover your state-wide fees…so you may get…Pell grant, Cal Grant, UC grant, etc.

So…contact your FA office and ask.

What is your EFC?

B&G is for those whose families earn less than (I think) $80k.
