On my Preliminary Financial Application, it said I qualified for the Blue and Gold Opportunity plan, which states that my tuition will be fully covered if scholarships and grants do not cover it already.

I do not have scholarships, and the amount of money I was awarded via UCSD Grant was only about $6000. I'm wondering why it is only $6000 when the full tuition is about $14000? Will I be awarded more later?

I believe it includes loans as a way to cover it

Did you sign up for Cal Grant? Because the Blue and Gold program considers UCSD Grant as well as Cal Grant to cover tuition. Loans tend to be for housing and miscellaneous cost

Nevermind, i guess i got it wrong. Heres what I found

The plan combines all sources of scholarship and grant awards you receive (federal, state, UC and private) to count toward covering your fees. If, for example, you receive Pell and Cal Grants and private scholarships that don’t fully cover your fees, UC grant money will make up the difference.

@JChan330, No I did not. I believe the Cal Grant and the Blue And Gold Program have different eligibility requirements, so I did not qualify for the Cal Grant.

To be eligible for the Blue and Gold Opportunity Grant, you must:

Demonstrate income at or below $80,000 with financial need, as determined for federal need-based aid programs
Be a California resident
Be in your first 4 years of attendance at UC (or your first 2 years if a transfer student) Meet other basic eligibility requirements for need-based financial aid
Apply for Cal Grant by submitting the Cal Grant GPA Verification to the Cal Grant Program
