Blue Book Scores!!!

Hi, so I took a practice test from the McGraw-Hill book a while back (VERY helpful, I really recommend it), and here were my scores:
CR: 570
MATH: 410
WRITING: 690

TOTAL: 1670

This book gave me solid numbers. Today, I took a practice test from my College Board "BLUE BOOK". I'm not familiar with their grading system. Here are the scores I got:
CR: 650-730
MATH: 510-570
WRITING (w/o Essay): 66-76 (these are the exact numbers they gave me)

So, can you please help me understand what these mean? why don't they give me ONE score? why a range?

also, can you please help me correct my essay in my other thread? thank you! :)

1870-1990

id say 1910

please help
