I am a junior at a small public high school in upstate NY (30 kids in my grade) There are no ap courses offered at my school. I opted not to take the SATs but took the ACTs and got a 36. I am ranked 1st in my class and my gpa is 97.4. I expect to have my SAT II scores back in a few days and i predict socres in the 700’s for Chemistry and MATH I . I have played VArsity soccer since 9th grade and made numerous all county, all state teams. I am recruitable for Division III, not sure about Division I. I play basketball and softball (won some awards for softball) also. I am also a competitive freestle skier and am nationally ranked and participated in the Junior Olympics

Last year i won the NAtional Coachville Essay contest andwon 2000 dollars and a trip to new orleans where i read my essay at a conference.

Family Alma Maters:

Mother: Oxford
Father: Yale
Grandmother: Oxford
Grandfather: Oxford
Grandmother: i dont think she went
Grandfather: williams
Great Grandfather: Oxford
Great Grandfather: Williams
My twin sisters who are 2 years older than me: Yale

…I feel like i am missing something… if u have any questions ask me!!

I struggled with the whole "college thing" -- agonizing over where I would be admitted etc. I know what you are going through but...

CHILL!!

You will be fine -- grades, test scores, extra-curriculars etc. I also wouldn't underestimate the interview. I am also pretty convinced that they evaluate applicants based on their high school -- what it has to offer, others applying etc.

It is painful to try to guess the odds of admission (personal experience). Just write your essays, perfect your resume, fill out the applications and everything will work out.

Does that mean you'll get into Yale? Who knows! But worrying incessantly certainly is not the key.

Wow. You got a good shot at Yale...haha.

I think you have a really good chance at getting in. I can't find any "flaws" and you seem to be very well rounded. But you also have a really good legacy at Yale, Williams, and Oxford.

Wow. You seem to be very very involved and passionate about sports and girl scouts. But, maybe it´s just me, there´s seems to be a lot of pressure for you to get into an ivy or some other top notch school. If that´s the case, I´m gonna bump priddie.

Oxford?? As in, in England? I don't think legacy plays any part in an English Universities... I might be wrong but as far as my English friend had told me, that's the case. Especially so, since English universities are public. That's why the son of Tony Blair and the 2 princes (in fact any of the royal family) didn't go to Oxbridge.

Um, actually, Tony Blair's son IS going to Oxford (the middle boy).

I dont think i want to go to oxford because i am not well prepared .I go to the worst high school ever where everyone in my graduating class (about 30) will be attending a community college except for about 3 of us. In oxford you have to study just one thing because in high school, students over there have already chosen a major and are already working towards it in high school. I proboly could get into oxford just because my grandparents are big names there and have a ton of stuff named after them. but i think i want to stay in the states because i have to idea what i want to do with my life yet!!

I mean the eldest son.... That got into Yale and Harvard grad school... Go Figure... Even Tony Blair himself was waitlisted...
