BME at UNC or Illinois-Urbana Champaign?

I have been accepted to UNC and was planning on attending their in the fall in their BME Phd program.

However, I have recently been contacted by UIUC via a second round of admissions and am being offered admission for the fall.

I need to make a hurried decision (3-5 days) rather blindly since I have not had a chance to visit Urbana Champaign. I realize it is a better engineering school, and recieving funding at both places, I do not know which will be best for me

I would love to hear any and every suggestion and comments that might be out there.

-Thanks

UIUC is far and away the better engineering school, but Bioengineering is probably their lowest ranking of their engineering programs (it was founded in 2005).

Do you know ahead of time your tuition/stipend situation for the Phd programs? If you do and one varies significantly from another that would be a huge factor.

at UNC im getting a generous RA position with the department head. at UIUC im gettin a TA’ship.

At both places, I would recieve full tuition and an adequate stipend.
