I am really excited because I received the bot scholarship for $30,000, but I was wondering if this was the same as my financial aid package? I really want to be able to go to GW, but it is so expensive that I still don;t know if it is possible with just this so I was hoping this was not the only aid they are giving. Thanks for any answers that can be given.

I was wondering the same. Really hope they give me at least a little more, but I’m not sure since it says that it “is based on your impressive academic credentials and demonstrated financial need.” Anyone know about this?

Some “merit” aid does have a need component to it, which may explain some of the puzzling statistics seen sometimes associated with merit awards (or lack of merit award).

However, this is not necessarily the total aid package, which will likely include loans, work study and hopefully other grant/scholarship money. You will receive the information with your snail mail acceptance packet.

in order to get the board of trustees scholarship, you need to have had applied for financial aid. basically, you guys were probably the better overall applicants for this year AMONG people that applied for fin aid (which is a majority of the incoming class). any scholarship you get is considered to be part of your fin aid package. the nice thing about board of trustees, though, is that it’s guaranteed for up to 5 years no matter what (so long as you don’t get a low GPA or get into some sorta trouble).
