I agree with @sevendad though, you do not want to be sending too many score reports, I do not think they are using SSAT scores to determine how high of a score you could get if you took it 10 times and studied for 2 years. They use it as in imperfect test of ability/aptitude that they can compare across a wide applicant pool coming from a wide range of academic backgrounds
For super scoring, I’d imagine one would send one report with the highest in reading and another with the highest in math. It doesn’t make sense to send more than the two.
You cant select.,.the schools do this.
FrshD #2 who is applying this round, did very poorly on her first round of SSAT tests, very poorly. The second round they budged but barely. We couldn’t figure out why her scores didn’t reflect the work she was doing in school and were almost convinced that this was just an eye opener for us parents who had an over inflated idea about what our child could achieve on standardized tests. She asked to take it one more time. She thought she had some residual nerves the second time around and low and behold, her scores rose substantially the third time (no joke- huge number increase) and brought her 10 points higher than any of the schools she applied to were calling their ‘average’ ssat score. Moral of the story? If you think that their scores are a pretty accurate reflection of the kind of work they produce in general then, yeah- doesn’t seem like a great idea to keep taking the test but if you are scratching your head as to why your child’s scores are so low when they are in honors math? it might just be nerves. Needless to say, we sent one set of scores…
@soontobeprepmom You CAN select which tests to send to schools.
you can select which tests but I don’t think you can select which sections of which tests @payn4ward that is what @soontobeprepmom was pointing out to you. And @freshlook I don’t think anyone was saying don’t have your kid take the test again if you/they think it will be meaningful, but you do not want to be sending more than 2 different tests to a school. I think there are kids who have taken the test a lot more than 2 or 3 times, at some point it gets ridiculous
OK. One should check with each school but if they do say they would superscore, one will have to take the word for it and send the two sets above.
Taking the tests more than 2-3 times reminds me this quote,
