SSAT Superscore

Hello all,

I was wondering if boarding schools superscore the SSAT? I got a 2202 overall on this round, but my reading score went down. Would schools see my higher reading score?

edit: It would be a 2223 if it superscored - not a whole lot better, but would put me in 90th percentile overall.

Congrats!!! Great scores! I don’t want to give bad advice so I won’t comment.

Thanks so much!

I believe supercoring depends on the school! If it isn’t on the website, I would reach out to the individual schools via email to see.

If this helps anyone:

Math - 92nd
Reading (old) - 70th
Reading (new) - 50th😬
Verbal - 95th

Ok, I’ll go check now!

Just my opinion. I may be wrong, so take this with a grain of salt. I’m pretty sure most independent schools care MUCH more about you individual, section scores, rather than your overall percentile/score, superscored or not. Even if you have 90%+ overall, your section scores can bring you down by A LOT. Coming from a guy who got 99 overall, 99 math, 99 verbal, 96 reading. Anyways, your apps should be done now so this doesn’t rly matter.

you are incorrect. I have spoken to many(i mean a bunch) of AOs. Not one has said percentiles matter. Scaled scores are much more telling(so i’ve been told by Andover, Hill, and NMH) who has told you this information? Schools have said percentiles are quite random, and also quite useless. Don’t want to be rude or anything, but we must be careful giving advice as we are still young teens.

Hi! I spoke with a lot of AO’s too, but they are in my area (Bay Area). They all said that they care much more about your section scores out of 800 rather than your overall score. I assumed that the same process applied to East Coast boarding/prep schools, but I guess not. Thanks for the info!

Even then, it would only show one test if you didn’t get to superscore. In my case, the score went down the second time in one section, so I needed to superscore for them to see the best individual scores.
