I am applying for Andover and Exeter along with 9 other schools for my 9th grade as an international student. My grades are As equivalent to 4.0 unweighted GPA. My extracurriculars are Speech and debate, Baseball captain for 2 years, Web developer, completed 6 college level courses on edX at Harvard university, raised funds for social cause and awarded by the school, Math team captain, Science Club vice president and Class president for 1 year. I wrote a good essay, I wrote a real story in my own words. My recommendations are well, my teachers wrote that I am a programming prodigy etc. My interview is on 25th Jan 2021 and I knew that it will go well since I am a good communicator. Created many games and working on creating a website. For community, I wanna open my web development club for the students that I’ll tell them in the interview, I am really interested in this.
I am from India and I’ll be requiring 100% financial aid. I didn’t took the SSAT because there are no centers in my city and my state. That I got a waiver for SSAT from the schools.
What are my chances of getting into Exeter and Andover.
@skieurope – can you help the OP by moving this to the BS forum?
You really made me laugh, but why are you so sure? Captain of baseball? Grammatical mistakes strategically placed? I am on the fence.
You seem very qualified however it is going to be an uphill battle to receive FA as an international student. (i cant exactly chance because i’m a kid).
That’s OK; most adults cannot accurately chance either.

Just like @lilyesh, I’m just an applicant so I can’t really chance you, but I can give you some feedback.
I’d say that being an international student needed full financial aid isn’t the “best” for applications (most of their FA budget goes to domestic applicants). Also, I assume you’re an ORM which also puts you down a bit. Overall, you have a great application based on what you’ve said.
Side note: there were a few grammatical errors in your thread. I bet you were just typing fast, but watch out for these in your essays.
I believe that international students are required to take the TOEFL in order to demonstrate English proficiency…
@jpmorganchase21 I emailed all the schools in which I was applying and they told me that if you have attended an english medium school then there is no requirement for TOEFL. I got the waiver for TOEFL.
@prepschool2021 Yes I was typing fast. Sorry for that.
Btw, what do you mean by ORM
over-represented minority.
I couldn’t understand what exactly it means.
Maybe it’s because of the recent forum question on whether “stats” are exaggerated on CC that has me skeptical about all of the items referenced by @AtharvPancholi but if they are all 100% true then chances are good for acceptance to one or more of the 11 schools with FA but I don’t think many of them would offer 100% FA, especially without the certainty of an SSAT score which would help to validate academic ability. Our experience is that unless there is a particular arrangement with a local URM organization or a sponsored scholarship, every student is expected to pay something and generally foreign students pay a much larger percentage of cost.

I second this! Many people have said that SSAT scores can sometimes correlate with how you’ll do at a rigorous BS.
