So, basically, for the school that I will be going to next year (Concord Academy) I have a choice between going as a day student and as a boarding student. Any perspectives on advantages/disadvantages of either boarding or day would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Not sure if this is really true or not–some say that day students are “smarter” because they have more help around them and have that kick in the pants and less distractions around. I will be a day student (not at Concord, at Peddie), along with my sibling, and I don’t think s/he has had any issues with day vs. boarding. Sure, the integration is a little non-existent at times, but at a small school with some day and some boarders, it would be just fine. Boarder = awesome experience, but day also = awesome experience. Really, sometimes it’s best to stay at home for a little while longer. Freshman year is a tough transition, and I think it’s good to be in a home environment for a little while longer.

Start as a day student. That way you still have home. Also concord locks the dorm rooms during the day.
