Freshman year 3.0 gpa
sophmore 3.56
junior 3.7-4.0

i have three 5s and one 4, and am aiming for five more 5s this year (junior year)
am expecting 2200 minimum on the SAT

recs will be excellent, but no MAJOR leadership positions, and tons of volunteer work

do i have any chance of getting into a prestigous/good/not state school? or will my horrendous freshman year totally skrew me over?

You tanked your freshman year and your sophmore year was better but not great. I think you have a great shot at the top 15 to 50 ranked colleges. I would not spend money trying to get into the top 15. They take GPA very seriously and you are not the only one taking AP classes in the country. Which means there other students that have taken APs and still got a very good GPA. The best of the best in this country only have less than a 10% chance of attending a top colleges.

Your GPA is low, I dont know why your expecting a 4.0 when GPAs dont work that way. If you received all A’s your junior year you might bring your GPA to the low 3.7 range (with ALL A’s). Please give some example schools, your definition of prestigious could vary. If it is Harvard, then no. If it is Northeastern then maybe. (Just examples of level of vigor/“prestige”). Your lack of EC (or lack of posting EC data) leaves much desired. Do not expect a 2200 with your GPA, take it and then post it, not vise versa. Sorry for being so forefront, but if you want a serious chance, take your chance thread seriously.
