High SAT, low-ish GPA, what are my chances?

Im currently a junior in high school, ive always been quite smart, but never applied myself to school whatsoever. I rarely did homework my freshman year, but managed to get through 3 honors with about straight b's. I took two honors last year because i got really lazy, and again didnt try. This year im in 4 honors, and will get straight a's, even though i am putting in next to no effort. Next year i plan on taking 4 AP's and a couple of honors, and will most likely get a's and b's. I can score around 2000-2100 sat scores, or probably higher if i really try. My senior year i will take a lot of courses, and do well, hopefully showing that i almost turned around, and am working hard now. Im part of 4 clubs, but im very involved in them, im the treasurer of the DECA club this year, which is the largest club in our school, and might be the state DECA treasurer, i will also lead the robotics club, and cinema club next year. What are my chances of getting into a really good school like Carnegie Mellon, or Cornell for Computer Science, or engineering? If not those, what do you think i could get into, i like computer engineering, and i think at most i can get to around a 4.2 GPA.

Well you aren’t in the greatest position right now but it sounds like you know exactly what you need to do. I wouldn’t focus on top tier schools right now but simply put in effort in your classes, SAT, and ECs. Do whatever it is you can to be an outstanding student.

It is too early to say your chances of getting in a top college as your post sounds like its based a large part on speculation.

Ignore rude posts. They usually come from people that realize they can’t get into Ivy League schools.

chancemaster12 is right. You sound lazy.
