Booking air travel

Does anyone know anything about booking air travel on studentuniverse.com? I just discovered it as I am looking for flights for D to come home for Thanksgiving. The flight that I want is only $2 and change cheaper through student universe, but I am interested for the long run. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Tell us your 2 points of travel and dates.

We used studentuniverse for our son’s trip for his semester in GB. I am a fan.

I started a thread about it last year: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/506959-student-universe.html?highlight=studentuniverse

It may help.

We’ve not found studentuniverse to be a good option for us. That’s probably due to the routes we needed. Yes the prices were marginally better, but at the expense of convenience. YMMV.

Yeah, there are much better options than studentuniverse (or other student travel sites). Kayak, Southwest.com, Farecast, etc. are all better.

I used it for my son his freshman year of college and it worked fine. His flight was canceled for some reason and he was re-booked on a different flight with no extra cost.

I have booked flights through Student Universe, and have never had an issue. But I also always check kayak and the individual airlines to compare fares.

We have found student universe to be good for one way trips, but always check kayak.com too. Student universe deals are not always the best.

Student Universe worked for D before on 2 European trips.I haven’t found kayak to work yet. I end up needing to use the airline sites and I have 6  to book right now. It’s a killer.
