Does anyone know what books are needed for these classes?

WORLD HISTORY: 1500 TO 1900
HIST-015 -050

AMERICAN POLITICS

Use this UCR textbook search system.

I don’t know about you guys, but none of the ISBNs that the UCR bookstore tells me get any results on the Internet. They don’t even have pictures of the freaking books and the titles are incomplete. ***. can you only get these overpriced textbooks from UCR?

If anyone would like to help:

the bus010 book is a custom version made exclusively for ucr. there’s not enough info available yet, but you can get the regular version of this book too. the only difference is that several chapters have been removed form the custom version to make things cheaper for students at the request of prof. singh to the textbook publisher. However, by the time ucr jacks up the price before it reaches the campus bookstore, you’d be better off getting the regular version off amazon, unless you can find a student with a used copy (sorry, already sold mine.)

Do you know which book it is? Since the UCR version is custom made, the ISBN is different from the regular version.

If you get hist-15 with Wilkie, I cant sell you mines. Im taking the class right now.

For posc-10 with Esterling, when I took it, the bookstore offered me a better deal than Amazon. After the class, I sold the books to Amazon and only lost like $10.

lightcaster08 - sorry, no i dont remember.

Sorry for reviving this thread, but I have a question regarding the necessary textbooks for English 001A and Math009A. UCR’s textbook directory has not been updated yet and neither has the information regarding the identities of my english and calculus professors, so any chance of contacting them regarding textbooks is currently out of the question. I just want to get my books as soon as possible and any info would be appreciated.

For Math009A-9C the books used is usually “Single Variable Calculus” James Stewart 6E?
Someone else clarify this as well, but thats the one I used last year.

The campus store sells a paperback version of this for roughly around $100. I bought a hard cover online for $75

engl001 series (1A, 1B, and 1C) - St. Martin’s Guide, 9th Edition, plus some novels which i believe varies according to whoever your teacher is, who will probably be a grad student.

I’ll let you in on a little tip, don’t buy the book. Most Engl001 series teachers rarely have you use your book or bring it to class. You should just go get it from the Rivera Reserves whenever you need it. I never had trouble checking the book out. There was always a copy available.

Thanks for the textbook info; by the way, I was just wondering how do English classes in college actually work? Are they similar to high school English classes in that they have in-class essays and discussions about assigned books, or do they focus more on lectures and taking notes?

@betagrey
Like 4 take home essays, no midterms, maybe a final (take home), and in class discussions about readings.

np. what himself said, although for 1B i did have in class essays from time to time, but they didnt count for much.

Alright, thanks for the info, I greatly appreciate it.

no problem. =]
