Books for self-studying?

I don't know what books to get, it would be most helpful if any of you could suggest good books for self-studying. The ones I plan on taking are:

Statistics
Biology
Chemistry
Environmental Science
English Language
English Literature
German
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Psychology
Art History
Geography
World History
European History
US Government & Politics
Comparative Government & Politics

First of all, good luck!!

APES: I have PR, and that’s been fine so far. A lot of people say Smarty Pants is good, too, but you have to buy it on Amazon. I don’t have any experience with it, though.

German: The Bible for the German AP, the blue/gray book combo from College Board: [Preparing for the AP® German Language Exam: A Thematic Approach](<a href=“Store App”>Store App)

Micro/Macro: Mankiw and PR

Art History: Gardner’s and the Annotated Mona Lisa for the material, Barron’s for practcie test questions

World History: PR

European History: Choose any of the following: Palmer’s, McKay’s A History of Western Society Since 1300, Palmer’s textbook, Crash Course, Viault’s Modern European History, and PR. I’ve heard good things about Cliffs and AP Achiever, too.

US Government & Politics: American Government in Black and White, PR

Comp. Gov.: Ethel Wood’s guide, 2009 version

apexamnotes.com is good for some other subjects you mentioned, but it’s not for everyone, since it doesn’t have an all-encompassing database for the humanities, and is more science/math oriented. It can be great, but it depends what you’re looking for.

Thank-you so much for your most helpful information! It is much appreciated.
