Any recommendations for books on Strategies for College search and Admission? I tried to search for threads but came up with mostly test prep books. If there is a thread already, please paste a link.

Not exactly strategy, but explains the process so that you can develop a strategy to fit your circumstances: Admission Matters by Sally Springer.

Thanks. I will look for it. Trying to get as much info as possible right now. Really trying to do my research and learn the process for DS2.

The College Solution is a good, practical book.
For a look inside admissions, I recommend The Gatekeepers by Steinberg and Acceptance by Marcus.
if you need a stress reliever of sorts: the comedy Admission with Tina Fey is obviously a comedy., exagerated for laughs, but it’s based on truth. In fact, many an admission counselor chuckled and recognized some scenes from their own experience :), plus some lines are really funny.

A is for Admission–written by an admissions officer. Elizabeth Wissner-Gross has a couple of books on buffing up applications. And yes, The Gatekeepers is a good book. BTW, if you want a nauseating overview of the racism and bigotry that helped shape our current admissions process, try Jerome Karabel’s The Chosen.

Winning the College Admissions Game by Peter van Buskirk, former dean of admission at Franklin & Marshall. He gave a great presentation recently at my daughter’s prep school. An excellent book for students and parents.

Entomom: Just finished Admission Matters. Very helpful. Thanks.

Glad you liked it, I found it pretty straightforward and helpful. Best of luck with the process!
