Here's a really interesting thing I found on the internet - a correlative study on college student's intelligence vs. books. It's silly because it doesn't really prove anything nor is it really scientific.

1 1984
2 Pride And Prejudice
3 One Hundred Years Of Solitude
4 Harry Potter
5 Catch-22
6 The Sun Also Rises
7 The Great Gatsby
8 Moneyball
9 Crime And Punishment
10 Heart Of Darkness

I understand what he's doing, but it doesn't really seem very logical. Isn't it extremely obvious that its simply that maybe lower level schools are exposed to these books because they are simpler to comprehend NOT because they make you dumb? I guess it's funny, but it's totally illogical. Lower level high schools wouldn't bother teacher certain books that are harder to comprehend. Am i just missing something?

This is severely mislabeled. These books don't necessarily "make you dumb." It just shows books that people with lower SAT scores tend to like more. These books are not the input for which a lack of intelligence is the output.

You are all taking it too seriously. Of course the books don't really make you dumb. Even if the study was more thorough, correlation does not equal causation! It's just for fun! I found it on Gawker.com.
